Herman Rosa Chávez
Following the disappointment of the Copenhagen Environment Summit Cop15 in December 2009, the Centre is hosting a series of meetings to consider ‘what now?’. The After Copenhagen Series, part of our ongoing Environment Series, will bring various people to the Centre through the course of the coming year who were involved in Copenhagen, others who have campaigned and followed it closely, and others still who now suffer its effects.
We were delighted that the Series was opened by Minister Herman Rosa Chávez, Minister of the Environment in the Government of El Salvador, who represented El Salvador in the Copenhagen negotiations. We heard from him first hand what went on in Copenhagen, why a deal was so hard to reach and why it failed, and what it now means for El Salvador and other countries like his.
To download the first part of his talk, click here, or click below to listen to it immediately. The sound quality is not excellent, so please adjust your volume controls to get the best sound.
