A course for Lent using works of art to grow in prayer
With Fr Gero McLoughlin SJ
Thursdays in Lent, Feb 18, Feb 25, March 4, March 11
Lauriston Small Hall, 1.15 pm to 2.45 pm
The intention of this short course of four sessions is to foster reflection and prayer inspired by brief considerations of masterpieces of Western representational art.
It is hoped that, cumulatively, the sessions of the course and the 6 paintings to be examined will help each one to better ‘see’ and express their sharing in God’s sustaining presence in the world.
Suggested Gospel texts and reflective questions will help to move the course forward from session to session.
In its totality, this course reflects a fundamental process of Ignatian spirituality. |
